Quarry and Pan European Picnic Site

This was last Saturday on my Dad's birthday when he visited a few landmarks in the area. One is a big quarry in Fertőrákos where they have concerts in the summer inside the big cave, and the other was the place where the border was opened in 1989 to let the East Germans flee to West Germany through Hungary, the Iron Curtain was broken. It was called the Pan European Picnic on August 19. A landmark in modern History. My Father wanted to see the place, because he knew about the backround of the event, and how it all came about. Today they have an open-air museum there with photos and monuments like that door, for example.
